Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 16 is set to launch on PC on September 17, 2024, much to the excitement of fans worldwide. The game will be available on both Epic Games Store and Steam, with a playable demo already live on PC. However, player reviews for the demo on Steam have been mixed.
As of now, the Final Fantasy 16 demo has garnered over 700 user reviews on Steam, with a 50% positive rating, leading to an overall “mixed” reception. While some players praised the game’s visuals and storyline, others have raised concerns over performance issues. Complaints of stuttering, forced frame rate caps, crashes, and bugs have significantly affected the gameplay experience.
In response to these issues, Square Enix has released the 1.01 patch for the demo, aiming to enhance the overall experience. The update brings improvements to DLSS, FSR, and XeSS resolution technologies, addressing visual problems such as blurring (DLSS/XeSS) and pixelation (FSR).
Other fixes in the 1.01 update include:
- Dynamic resolution being locked at the lowest settings.
- Enemies not displaying correctly in certain battles.
- Graphical anomalies in specific stages of the game.
- Screen tearing when using borderless screen mode.
- SFX not playing properly in some instances.
- UI display issues in certain cases.
- Screen resolution changes under specific conditions.
- Rare GPU crash issues.
- Minor bug fixes.
